Bryan Krnavek Biography

Bryan Krnavek was born on October 26, 1957 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Leroy and Virginia Krnavek. The 2nd of 4 children, he graduated 5th in his class from Corpus Christi Foy Moody High School in 1976. He received his Associate in Arts Degree from Del Mar College in 1979, his Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Corpus Christi State University in 1981 and his Master of Science Degree in School Administration from Corpus Christi State University in 1986. He spent the next 27 years in the Flour Bluff Independent School District in Corpus Christi, Texas: 4 as a JH Band Director, 14 as a Head HS Band Director/Director of Performing Arts (where his bands were consistent Sweepstakes winners and he held region and state offices in the Music Education professional organization the Texas Music Educators Association), 4 as an Assistant Principal (Flour Bluff Primary School) and 5 as a Principal (Flour Bluff Early Childhood Center). Bryan then spent the next 2 years in the Alice Independent School District as the Director of Music Activities. In June 2010, I retired from the education field after 29 years of service. In July of 2010, he went to work for South Texas Music Mart in Corpus Christi, Texas as a Sales/Road Representative. In October 2010, he also went to work for Straight A Tours as a Travel Consultant. Bryan still holds these positions today.

Bryan has been happily married to his wife Jennifer for 17 years and has two daughters, Kelsey who is 14 and a freshman in High School and Stacie who is 10 and is in the 5th grade. He is very involved in my church as a Eucharistic Minister, Religious Ed teacher and adult formation leader. Additionally, he plays trombone in the Corpus Christi Wind Symphony, which is a community band that he was a founding member in 1986. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his daughters in their band, softball and volleyball endeavors. He has coached girls softball for the past 6 years and was involved in winning 2 Texas State Softball titles and 1 Southern National Softball Title.
